Terms of Service
Who these terms are between
These Terms of Service govern your use of the Ride Modern website and your purchase of installation services from Ride Modern LLC, a Tennessee limited liability company (“Ride Modern”, “we”, “us”), of Greater Nashville, Tennessee. By requesting a quote, reserving an installation, or using this site, you agree to these terms.
What we do
Ride Modern installs modern aftermarket head units providing wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in supported vehicles, at your home or workplace within our published service area. We install in supported vehicles only; if your vehicle is not in our supported list, we will tell you and route you to a manual review rather than quote a fixed price.
Quotes, pricing, and vehicle review
Prices shown on this site are for supported vehicles and are quoted based on the information you provide. Automated compatibility and pricing results are representative, not a guarantee of fit. Before we order vehicle-specific components we require photos of your vehicle, and a person reviews them. If that review shows we cannot complete your installation, we will tell you and refund you in full under our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
Where a fixed price cannot be determined automatically, your order enters price confirmation and no deposit is collected until a person has confirmed the installed price with you.
Deposits, payment, and cancellation
A deposit reserves your appointment and funds the purchase of your vehicle-specific hardware. The remaining balance is due on completion of the installation. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store card numbers. Cancellation, rescheduling, and refund terms are set out in full in our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Scheduling and access
You are responsible for providing safe, legal, and reasonable access to the vehicle at the scheduled time and location, including a suitable place to work and, where required, permission to work at that location. If access cannot be provided, day-of cancellation terms in the Refund & Cancellation Policy apply.
Your vehicle and your responsibilities
You confirm that you own the vehicle or are authorised by its owner to have this work performed on it. You are responsible for removing valuables from the vehicle before installation. You should be aware that aftermarket modifications may affect a manufacturer or dealer warranty; you are responsible for confirming the position with your manufacturer or dealer.
Installation warranty
Workmanship — 1 year. We warrant our installation work for one year from the date of installation. If a problem arises from how we performed the installation within that period, contact us at hello@ridemodern.com and we will correct it at no charge to you.
Hardware — 1 year. The head unit and vehicle-specific components we supply are warranted for one year from the date of installation. If hardware fails within that period we will repair or replace it, and we will assist you with any manufacturer claim.
Neither warranty covers damage from misuse or accident, work performed on the system by anyone else, or unrelated pre-existing faults in the vehicle. Removing or modifying the installed equipment yourself ends both warranties.
Limitation of liability
Damage we cause to your vehicle. An installation means removing factory trim, taking out the factory head unit, and wiring into your vehicle’s electrical system. If we damage your vehicle by doing that work carelessly, we are responsible for the reasonable cost of putting it right. We do not ask you to waive that, and nothing in these terms limits it. That is true whichever technician we assign to your installation. We carry liability insurance covering damage to customer vehicles while we are working on them, and claims of this kind are handled through it.
Injury. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability the law does not allow us to limit.
Problems with the work or the hardware. If the installation or the hardware we supplied does not work properly, the warranties above are your remedy: we return and correct our work, or repair or replace the hardware, at no charge. Give us the chance to do that before paying someone else to fix it. The hardware is made by third parties; after the hardware warranty ends, hardware failures are a matter for the manufacturer, though we will still assist you with a manufacturer claim where one exists.
Indirect costs. We are not responsible for the indirect or consequential costs of a problem — for example loss of use of your vehicle, rental car or rideshare costs, lost wages or income, or missed appointments — even where the underlying problem was our fault. What we remain responsible for is the direct cost: repairing damage we caused, and the warranty remedies above.
Faults that were already there. Working in a dashboard sometimes surfaces problems that existed before we arrived — a weak battery, a blown fuse, earlier repair work, an unrelated electrical fault. We are not responsible for pre-existing faults, or for unrelated problems that happen to appear around the time of our work. If something does appear soon after an installation, contact us anyway: we would rather look at it with you than argue about it from a distance.
Aged or fragile parts. Trim clips, connectors, and wiring — especially in older vehicles or ones with previous repair work — can be brittle or corroded and can break even when handled with proper care. We are responsible when we work carelessly. We are not responsible when a fragile or previously damaged part fails despite careful work. If that happens during your installation, the technician will show you at the appointment, not hide it.
Your manufacturer or dealer warranty. As set out above, aftermarket modification may affect manufacturer or dealer warranty coverage, and confirming that before booking is your responsibility. We are not responsible if a manufacturer or dealer reduces or declines coverage because of the modification.
Data and settings. Removing a factory head unit means losing what is stored in it — radio presets, paired phones, navigation history, and any settings managed through that unit. We are not responsible for data or settings that cannot be preserved when factory equipment is removed.
Everything else. For any other claim connected with these terms or an installation — excluding damage we cause to your vehicle, injury, and anything else the law does not let us limit — our total responsibility is capped at the amount you paid us for that installation.
Where the law says otherwise. Some laws do not allow some of these limits, and nothing in this section takes away a right the law gives you that cannot be waived. Each limit applies only to the extent the law allows; if part of this section cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
Acceptable use of this site
Do not misuse this site: no attempting to access accounts or data that are not yours, no automated abuse of our quote or email features, and no interference with the service. We limit quote emails per address to prevent abuse.
Reviews you submit
Reviews you submit may be published on this site alongside your first name and vehicle. We may decline to publish a review, but we do not edit the substance of one. Do not submit anything unlawful or that is not your own experience.
Privacy
Our handling of your information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we make material changes we will update the effective date above. The terms in force when you reserved your installation are the ones that apply to that installation.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
Talk to us first. If you have a problem with our work or a dispute about these terms, email us at hello@ridemodern.com before starting any legal proceeding. Tell us what went wrong and what outcome you want, and give us 30 days to make it right. Most problems with an installation are covered by our warranty and are fastest to fix that way. We agree to the same step: we will contact you and give you 30 days before we start a proceeding against you.
Where disputes are decided. If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, it will be decided by the state or federal courts located in Davidson County, Tennessee, and you and we each consent to venue and personal jurisdiction there. Because we only serve the Greater Nashville area, this keeps any dispute local for both of us.
Small claims. Either of us may bring a qualifying claim in the General Sessions (small claims) court for Davidson County instead. For a dispute of the size a typical installation involves, that court is usually the fastest and least expensive option for both sides, and neither of us needs a lawyer to use it.
These terms do not require arbitration. Nothing in this section limits any right you have under Tennessee consumer protection law.
